  1. Thou shalt pack out all that thou dost pack in.
  2. Thou shalt leave no trace of thy passage behind thee.
  3. Thou shalt hide the box better than it was hidden when thou didst find it.
  4. Thou shalt clean litter from the trails as thou dost return to thy car.
  5. Thou shalt show respect for Private Property, No Tresspassing Signs, and the Anti-Letterboxing Policies of the National Park Service.
  6. Thou shalt poke in the hole with a stick first, that thy days may be long upon the land.
  7. Thou shalt always chain thy dog to preserve the flesh of thru-hikers.
  8. Thou shalt send thy Postals along in a timely manner.
  9. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor’s magnifying light and number zero carving gouge.
  10. Thou shalt employ discretion and stealth at all times so as not to endanger helpless bits of carved rubber.

I remember reading an article a few years ago. It was by someone who was disgusted about how easy it was to become an ordained minister.

He got his cat ordained.

It was pretty funny. I wish I could remember where I'd seen it.

deepest, darkest confessions

I recently arranged to attend a professional conference 50 miles from home, solely so I could snag two boxes placed in one of those limited hours, M-F 9-3 type sites.

Of course I had to cut out of the conference early to get there..in other words, I only worked about half the day, in order to go boxing.

Don't tell my boss, or the taxpayers who write my paycheck.

Thou shalt not do the 'nasty' (bump n grind, shake n bake, horizontal mambo, boots a knockin', pig in the poke, etc...) either on top of or neaby the holy ground of the placement of another's letterbox...

Unless thou wantest poison ivy and twigs in thy unmentionable places...

I don't know, I can think of a few boxer's who might encourage this, although stumbling upon other finders could be a bit embarrassing. I am pretty sure I read a clue for a "... in the woods" box. As long as its not a drive by...
