For those of you who were not there, whether out on the trails in Andover or any other part of the world, let me explain how we pranked the Pranksters on the Ship of Fools. Prior to the event I carved a stamp that I thought captured the essence of Captain Pete of the Ship of Fools. Upon arriving on the Ship, I began spreading the word of a super-secret-word-of-mouth stamp. Super-secret, that is, from Prankster Pete and Prankster Deb. Otherwise, I said, TELL EVERYONE, but make sure to tell them NOT to tell Prankster Pete or Prankster Deb. The instructions were simply to go up to Pete at some point and say, "Captain My Captain." I thought it would be fun to drive him crazy with suspicion about why people kept saying this same phrase to him, and I wondered how long it would take him to figure it out. That's as far as I planned. BUT, it got better!!
On the day of the Stearns Pond event, Pete saw the image stamped into Vickster's logbook and asked what it was. Clever Vickster played it off like a pro, saying, "Oh, it was in a table box over there. I don't know where it came from. It's not there anymore? Really? I don't know where it went!" (Or something like that, I'm actually just paraphrasing.) Now...the mystery was on! The phrase and the image--what do they mean? Prankster Deb did not know anything about it, but she joined efforts with him to solve this puzzling mystery. Through the course of the day I had several people come up to me to say that either Pete or Deb had been grilling them about that stamp. Everyone stood strong (i.e., blatantly lied). We in the know, of course, just giggled. The icing on top came from Lundy, with his foolish idea of a grand reveal, which we implemented with perfect timing--right in the middle of some Pranskter mystery-solving (not so successful) sleuthiness. And so, we give you...
Captain My Captain: The Reveal
Enjoy the foolishness! Nothing brings a smile more readily than pranking a Prankster! :-)

O Captain! my Captain! our fearful trip is done;
The ship has weathered every rack, the prize we sought is won;
The port is near, the bells I hear, the people all exulting,
While follow eyes the steady keel, the vessel grim and daring:
............. Doh! Giddy clues?!?!?!?!?!
.

.......Yup, y'all got me good! Mutiny I tell you! ........... MUTINY!!! ;o)

So grateful I didn't fall getting up on the picnic table and spoil it all (although I came close - the klutz that I am). Sorry Pete, you know I love you, but I just had to fib about knowing or the fun would have been spoiled.

Not Giddy clues! Although I like the bell. A Giddy clue sounds more like:
"You ask me where the four winds dwell
In Franklin's tower there hangs a bell
It can ring, turn night to day
Ring like fire when you lose your way"
(That and "Furth-er" others are to come. You will just HAVE to come to Maine, my Captain!)

Most Awesome!
The funniest really is Deb chumming for clues to the mystery.
Nice job by all involved, and particularly Eric for immortalizing it on video.
