This is why I work where I work! Every day here is supposed to be fun. My boss firmly believes that every one of us should be happy to come to work and wants to know when we have problems that make it not fun! They seem to bend over backwards to make sure that everyone is happy and comfortable. That is why it's no big deal for me to be on AQ at work. They know I'll get my work done, they want me to take a break and do what I want every so often.
We play a lot, we just moved to a new building with a huge warehouse out back.... last week we all had chair races and played bumper chairs too. They have a cookout for us with steaks and potatoes every couple of months, usually on a whim. We celebrate a birthday every month and there's presents. People bring in cookies or donuts or cakes on whims. There's a campout/canoe trip every summer.... sometimes the boss brings his snowmobiles in winter and we take turns taking rides on the nearby trails (and getting paid for it!). If I go on a business trip, we find something we want to do and do it (like, I wanted to see Dealey Plaza in Dallas when we went there, we got drunk and did Karaeoke in Wichita once). We got the week off between Christmas and New Years with pay (altho that meant we had to hustle for the other 3 weeks before and after ; ). We're all just a big family and can count on each other any time (I can't tell ya how many times one of the guys out back worked on my car during company time and off too when I had my clunker). We all even hang out outside of work too for the most part!
My fiance recently told me that he's jealous of my job.... that he doesn't "know what the hell I do but at least I have fun doing it and great people to do it with."
That's why I love where I work and if it's National Fun at Work Day, I don't even notice.... b/c just about every single day is a fun day at my work! I'm sorry if you don't get to work in an awesome place and have to "specially" celebrate a holiday like this.

So, where do you work? What do you do? You mentioned snow, so I know I won't be moving there. I am curious to know what kind of company is so employee friendly. My employers were great when the doctors I work for were the actual bosses. Since they partnered with a national company--well, let's just say things have gone downhill.
