Not abusing your methods, lol. I have state-wide searches for my state and the states adjacent to mine, so that would make 5, plus Wisconsin, just because. Then I have a 75-mile from home radius search for the impromptu, hey-it's-a-nice-day-today ... wanna-go-somewhere-close-to-find-some-letterboxes? adventures. There is some overlap. I also set notifications for my searches. As soon as a new box meets the criteria, I read the clues. Does it sound like I'd like to look for that box? Yes? - TAG it; No? - IGNORE it. Periodically I'll add a city search for an area I'll be visiting. After the visit i delete the Favorite Search. When I plan my trip I review my favorite searches. If some boxes slipped through, they will not have that yellow star on them. I'll read those clues, make a tag/ignore decision, and then print clues for the remaining yellow stars. And when I'm especially prepared, I will edit these printed clues in a spreadsheet or word document to conserve paper, adding my comments to help me get to them expeditiously.

Ooh, I just reread what I wrote, and it sounds like I have a real problem. Anyone else have a "system" for their favorite searches?

Yes! I let Amanda do them and print out the clues, then I go wherever she tells me to. =)

Oddly enough my hubby has the same method =o)

I like the idea of tagging the boxes, but Then I would have to untag them all after I was done visiting, easy enough to do if I went hunting for them all, but if I did not go back to them to log a find or an attempt they would be tagged for awhile and then my tagged boxes would get messy... I tend to use the tagged boxes for ones I need to do maintanence on and then I have a tagged box search so I know which ones I still need to check on... either for myself or for another boxer who does not live near their own box.

Another use for tags! I "ignore" my plants in the favorite searches. I don't have many boxes that I can't get to at least annually. I rely on email to gauge how often I do maintainance.

I don't go back and "untag" my Finds, but I do "ignore" them after I find them.

Ick! I apologize for that spelling typo. Two thoughts at once and I didn't proofread before I hit "submit."
