Temporarily, Daffnee's box has been pulled to do some things in her memory. 9/30/08 Daffnee died peacefully. She was an amazing hiker, even hiking for hours just a few days before she died. She LOVED the dog park. She will be back in the park she loved soon. In the meantime, her signature stamp is UNAVAILABLE.
Find Route 71A/Chamberlin Highway and Norton Road which runs off of it. Once on Norton from the Chamberlin Highway, take your first right onto Winesap Road and follow the road straight until it ends in a cul-de-sac, which is the entrance to Bicentennial Park. (Borrowed from Dog Walk series.)
Hike through the open area, past the 2 sentry trash cans, through another clearing, enter the woods, going counter clockwise on trail. When you get to the trail to the pond/river, continue on red. Look for the 1st 3 foot circumference tree on the right. Beside the tree is a barbed wire covered post. Go east from the tree about 35 steps. There you will find a huge tree with lots of sprawl. On the left hand side (from the trail), you will find Daffnee hiding in a branch cave.
This box is a free lance carving of our beloved boxing puddy. This box is carved and planted in celebration of her 10th birthday in October.
It is an add-on box to the Dog Walk series responding to the challenge to expand the series. It was box #13 (my favorite number!)
Please help her hide back better than you found her! Cover her well, she gets cold easily! Enjoy!
Hike Length: 1.0 miles
