A lovely spot! Amazing stamps. Great for little ones.

The scent of apple blossoms wafted over us as we stamped in at the final box - beautiful view of the pastoral countryside around us, gorgeous sun - a delight.

#1 was gone but the others are alive and well. The thyme is in full purple bloom.

Moving over comments from my now defunct old online guestbook:

Thanksgiving Sunday - our first attempt at letterboxing - my 3 kids (7,7,3yrs) headed out today and found all but box#3. We found the tire (standing upright leaning against a cedar tree in the underbrush - but no sign of the box hanging 3 ft off the ground). We found the others and they were in perfect condition! This hobby is exactly what I was looking for - fun so you don’t realize that you are getting lots of fresh air and exercise!! My kids can’t wait until our next letterbox adventure!!

Had fun today, our first letter-boxing adventure as well, nice and close to home. Found #1 and #2, no luck with 3+4 but will try again when not so hot. Thank you!

Cleaned up #2 - new sturdier box (I forgot that this one was still an old dollar store box - no wonder it water in it), new logbook, removed the old stamp pad - please bring your own (brown or black would be good). Thank you Shelagh for letting me know that there was a problem with the letterbox.

A beautiful location - and one we'll have to come back to in order to finish the other three boxes! We had a couple of miscues (bad compass reading) that set us back about half an hour, and by the time we got ourselves straightened out, it was raining. More fun left for another day.
