Easy fun find!!

The box was opened when we arrived and the contents spilled about but... we found everything and it was all in good shape. We put everything back together and hid the box again. :-)

Hmmm. I goofed. I apparently did not recheck this listing before going off to the wilds of Clermont and Winter Garden. So...we went for Box 2...walking. The clues were doing fine and so were we until we were supposed to find a clump of oaks after the Seminole fan building and before the bench. No oaks. Found the culvert, kinda covered with brush...looked like oak brush. Hmmm. Could it be that they cut the oaks down. Yup. Found the stump and poked about it hopefully. No luck. Dang!

As day was fading, we thought we would go find Killarney Station and see about Box 1. Couldn't find the station. Of course we really didn't know what we were looking for. I guessed an old railroad station. All we knew is that it should be along Route 50 and would involved the beginning of the West Orange Bike Trail.

Our automotive GPS system (Garmin) wouldn't help at all, no matter how we pleaded with it. Meanwhile it turned dark and we finally gave up. No, we didn't stop to ask anybody.

Researching Killarney Station on the internet was not easy. I just couldn't get the right sequences plugged in. Finally got it: 17922 Old State Route 50 in Killarney which turns out to be zipcoded as Oakland. However, Garmin doesn't find such an address and both Google and Yahoo will give a route but changes the street name to Old County Route E. Oh well, we now know that Killarney Station is a trail station, not railroad, and that there is a place named Killarney on the map...well...some maps. And we know it is either Old County or Old State. All seems appropriate for

Challenging! The biggest challenge is to find the starting place. For example Apopka-Vineland is not the same as Apopka...especially in the dark on a moonless night.
