Description

Come join us for some letterboxing fun at Lake Somerville State Park (Birch Creek unit)! The theme is Artistic License - which means anything related to art. Think classic paintings and drawings, art tools and supplies, work of local artists, art in advertising, or your own original art or doodles.

We have the "Group RV area" reserved which includes a dining hall, 14 pull-thru campsites, and 6 tent sites and we will have this area all to ourselves. (This is the Group Trailer Area on the map) Since the reservation covers the cost of the dining hall and the campsites, those who want to stay in this area need to let me know and I will list those with spots here. I'm asking for $20 per night to cover the cost (please pay me, not the park). Please let me know if you are tent camping or need a pull-thru site for your trailer or RV. You are also welcome to get a spot outside the group area or stay at a hotel and join us during the day.

Technically all the tent sites are taken now, but people can put up tents in the pull-thru sites if we need to.

Aug 10, 2014: Stamp trackers for event
Your event organizers are hard at work preparing stamps for the event. We now have two specific themed trackers for event series...

Book illustrations
You are welcome to carve a stamp for one of these series (or both!) and send it before the event to be included in the event clue book. You can also bring boxes to plant when you arrive.

Oct 12, 2014: Event details
Just two weeks to go before the event! Here is a basic schedule for the weekend...

Friday:
2:00 PM - Open dining hall and set up (chairs, tables etc..) volunteers are appreciated!
2:30 PM - Sign in and clues available
6:30 PM - Hot dogs. We will bring hot dogs, you bring chips and drinks. You are also welcome to bring a sack lunch or heat up food in the kitchen. Make yourself at home.
7:00 PM - Sunset and campfire outside the dining hall

Saturday -
11:30 AM - Potluck lunch and exchanges
7:30 PM - night boxing series by Mosaic Butterfly (time is approximate), campfire, and clean up

Sunday - The dining hall will be open Sunday morning for our use

Oct 20, 2014: Camping information
For those camping in the Group RV area for the event....you will need to check in at the main office, register your vehicle and pay the daily entrance fees. You do not need a campsite reservation. Please pay Open Space (Christine) $40 when you arrive.

If you are coming on Thursday, the park will let us camp in the Group RV area Thursday night, but the dining hall won't be open. In this case you will need to pay the park for camping fee for Thursday night. You do not need a reservation to camp there Thursday night.
