It was such a beautiful day today, I just had to get outside and do something. Since I have most of the geocaches in a 2-hour radius, I decided to try to find another letter box or two.
I love the idea of the history of the Mennonites and other churches, and the area is very beautiful. I would rate this letterbox very highly. Unfortunately, since this series is so old and hasn't been found in well over 10 years, I held a little hope- but some optimism I suppose- that the letterbox was insitu. When I arrived at the wood lot, it didn't take long to find the maple stump and it's five pointed Willow stump about 50 m West. Unfortunately after a intense search, I came up with nothing. I checked around the whole South Side although because the ground is Frozen it's possible it might be buried below Frozen debris at which I cannot access in February.
I even checked down at the willow stop in case it had been moved. I suppose it should be said, that because I'm new to letterboxing I may not be the best judge as to whether or not it is missing. But based upon my geocaching experience, I would hold a little hope that it's in place.

and now I know the difference between a willow stump and a maple stump. Mosquitos were hungry today.

Saw a deer as we approached the stump, who calmly watched us as we stamped in and out. Thanks for the very pretty drive through the country this evening.

Beautiful quilt square, and a perfect hiding place. I enjoyed the drive through this farm country. ;)

Earth Diver had the eagle eye to spot the stump. Good hidey hole. I love the name of this square!
