Box Comments

We were able to find the Winged Horned Lion LB. The box was a little damp inside and the log/ stamp box showed some wear. However, the stamp was gone!! (Someone wrote a note inside indicating they found it with a metal detector and a political statement. I wonder if they took the stamp.) :-( Tough to find as the log it was under was significantly decayed.)

I was the same as Bon Echo, had a bit of difficulty with the last bit of the clues but also found the box at the first log I looked in. Wonderful intricate design!

Great area. We got to leapfrog two logs, double the fun! The final part of the search was a bit tricky and we may have been a bit lucky because we found the box in the first place we looked. Fantastic stamp!

Gorgeous carving of the lion. It was nice to be out in the woods too.

What a nice hike we had today! We found the first box without much difficulty and then looked and looked for the second (Marduk). I thought maybe by reading the last finder's comment, and some luck, we could resurrect this one. Alas, it was not meant to be... Thank you so much Fiddleheads for the great carving and the reason to come enjoy these beautiful trails!

Gorgeous area for a hike! The landscape has changed quite a bit. The dead tree in clue #1 is no longer upright, but we were still able to find the box. No luck with the second box, but we stopped trying to look under things when I ran across a snake. hahaha Thanks for planting!

Fabulous Griffin!
We had a major problem trying find the other one and didn't succeed :(
We got through the first part of the clue no prob, but when it came to the 20 paces, fallen tree and bark, well I will say there is lots to choose from, he he.
Until next time :)

We also could not find the second box. Wish I printed the comments we may have been luckier. Great carve. One of the best we've seen.

Lion was a simple find. Marduk was much more difficult and required a lot of luck to find. They are cutting down a lot of trees right around your hide. In fact right now several trees are piled on top of your hiding spot. The box has been chewed by an animal but it is still intact. We rehid the box in the same location but covered with a flat rock and then loose bark and leaves hoping it will keep box hidden if the cut down trees are removed from the area.

Wonderful boxes, well worth the short hike. The clue for the second box needs amending.. there is no fith limb to step over, rather another one to step under. The paces are approximately 160 steps before you head right into the forest.

Cheers, Pete
