I was successful in finally finding Hop Along Home; but the hollowed out tree has fallen down over the bank and the box was just laying in the leaves nowhere near tree. We replanted the box close to original location. Here are the clues: from Geology trail take 26 steps to lg oak tree on left. Hop Along is now tucked behind the log closest to tree on the right facing the oak tree. He is covered well with leaves. Let me know if this does not suit and I will put back where I found it. I did not want to just leave it laying randomly in the woods.

Second time was the charm in finding this adorable little guy; however the tree listed in the clue has fallen and the box was just laying in the woods no where near the tree. We contacted owner of box.

Great location. The box lid was cracked, and the inside had gotten wet. However, we were still able to use the stamp.
