**Update**July 21st
With the tournament less than a month away, I thought it would be a good time for an update.
We have planted 59 new boxes for the event and there is something for everyones boxing taste!
Long hikes, short hikes, drive-bys, we have a good assortment of all. Along with your tournament cluebook you will receive a map of Leominster and Fitchburg.
Camping will be available at the Doyle Reservation for a fee of $10.00 for one or both nights. There are no shower facilities available but Porta-Potties will be set up for the event.
There is no potluck meal planned for the tournament, however if you wish to bring a picnic and dine on the beautiful grounds of the Doyle Estate or Reservation, you are welcome to do so. Leominster is home to all types of restaurants ranging from small chef-owned establishments to every fast food chain under the sun (or so it seems) as well as numerous pizza and sandwich shops. We can assist with a recommendation if you’d like.
We know that the “tournament concept” is new to letterboxing (it’s new to us too!) but our hope is that everyone who participates has an enjoyable experience….and, in case you were wondering, this is a one-time only event for us!

The lazy letterboxer

Okay, you know you're a great letterboxer....you are good at following directions, leave no trace when searching for a box and always rehide well...well now it's time to put your skills to the test at the Great Northern Tier Geocaching/Letterboxing Tournament!
For the first time since the tournament's inception, letterboxers are invited to participate.

The tournament starts from the Doyle Conservation Center in Leominster, boxes will be placed there as well as other locations in Leominster & Fitchburg and on the "fringes" of other nearby communities.
The tournament runs from 9:00am to 4 pm on Saturday and 9:00 am to 2 pm on Sunday.
Entry fee is $5.00 per person or $10.00 per team and goes toward tournament expenses.
Each person or team receives one set of clues and one scoresheet.
Scoresheets will be collected at 4:00 pm on Saturday, August 15th and 2:00 pm on Sunday, August 16th.
Boxes are rated according to a point system, for every 10 points accumulated you earn a raffle ticket toward prizes.
Camping will be available at the Doyle Center for an additional fee.
On Saturday night there will be a bonfire at the Doyle Center starting around 8 pm.
