~Boxtoberfest 2010~
It's all Greek to me!
This year's theme is Greece! We have lots of Greek themed boxes available but there are also over 50 boxes in the park~ Have a great time!

Date: Saturday October 9th, 2010
Rain or Shine
Last year was icky weather, hopefully this year's weather will be better~ So far the weather forcast look decent but don't want to jinx it! Just make sure you're warm enough :)

Where: Washington Crossing State Park- Titusville, NJ. Meet at Greene Grove Pavilion. The pavilion is handicap accessible and there are restrooms located nearby. The park is pet friendly, although the camping is not.

Time: 10am- 4:30pm. The traditional gathering is Saturday at the Greene Grove Pavilion. We will have clue books available at the gathering for our new boxes. Remember to bring your own clues for the many other boxes at Washington Crossing State Park. There will be prizes and presents for attendees :) There will be a raffle at Noon, you don't have to be present to win!

Lunch Pot Luck: Please bring a pot luck dish to share! Bring anything you wish, we'll have bottled water and sodas available. FYI- There are no outlets in the pavilion.

Camping: We reserved Group Camping Sites for everyone, there is $5 charge for camping to offset the cost. Email Lotus or Celtic Cat to reserve a camping space. Camping is available Friday night at site D and Saturday night at sites C and D. Site D holds 15 people while site C holds 25 people. This is organized group camping, many tents on one site. There is no shower, no water and only a portable toilet to use. Be prepared! You can set up your own camping gear anytime after 1:00 pm or Friday or all day on Saturday. Just drop off your camping equipment at the site but park your car at the Phillips Farm Day Use Area. Remember that the gathering is in October so make sure you bring enough blankets. There will be S'Mores and a campfire, please help out and bring firewood! Make sure to bring a camp chair to sit around the fire and tell stories~

Night Boxing: We will have three night boxing events. There will be a kids of any age series and a slightly more scary series and a classic hollywood horror series. Make sure to bring a flashlight or headlamp to find the boxes.

Bring: Boxtoberfest started as a New Jersey gathering hosted by letterboxingbee back in the early days of the hobby. For the gathering she would ask each attendee to bring a non-perishable item to be donated to a local foodbank. Last year we were able to donate over 100 pounds of food! So please bring a non-perishable food item for the donation box! There will be a special stamp for those who can donate. Thank you!

Oct 6, 2010: Boxtoberfest 2010
Just want to remind everyone to bring a food item to donate. After the gathering all food items we collect will be donated to the Food Larder at New Britain Baptist Church. The Food Larder serves hungry families in the Bucks County area.

Last year we collected a good deal of food that we were able to donate to the Food Larder, and this year we hope to be able to collect even more donations.

Don't forget there will be a special event stamp available to everyone who donates!

Oct 11, 2010: Boxtoberfest 2010 food donation update
Just wanted to let everyone know that all of the food that was donated at the Boxtoberfest gathering was delivered to the Food Larder at New Britain Baptist Church this morning. With all of your generous donations we were able to deliver 127.5 pounds of food.

Thank you all so much for allowing us to donate even more food than we did following the Boxtoberfest 2009 event.
