Description

Come to Guelph for an afternoon of exchanges and carving, and some hot chocolate with marshmallows.

Bring your carving tools, rubber, and images. If you've never carved before, there's a great store downtown (Wyndham Art Supplies) where you can buy all the supplies you'll need.

We'll look at different transfer techniques (pencil, heat, wintergreen oil), the difference between gouge and knife carving, and try out different carving materials (pink stuff, vinyl erasers, FirmKut, Softoleum). You can try various gouges, and sharpen the ones you bring.

I'll have the hot chocolate and some snacks waiting when you arrive.

Don't forget to bring your carving supplies.

If anyone wants to do a great heat transfer, finding the right photocopier is crucial, as is doing the transfer as soon as possible after the copy is made. In Guelph, there's a perfect photocopier at the downtown branch of the public library (where you can find the Five Cent Christmas Songs). It's on the main floor just past the check out desk. If you want to make a copy while you're there, I'll have the iron ready when you get here!

Hello All

I've had several offers from people to bring snacks or nibblies. I'll have some treats out, but if you really feel you must bring something, I won't turn you away (especially if they're brownies.)

I'll also have hot chocolate and tea, but we're not coffee drinkers, so if you like your coffee, you might want to stop at Tim's before you head over.
