Description

What: Bears and Brews: a showing of rubber stamps carved by jackbear.

Where: Crocus Clayworks studio in Suite 225 of the Hungerford Bldg, 1115 E. Main St. Rochester, NY

When: April Fool's night, April 1, from 5-9 pm

Who: Anyone is welcome, letterboxers and muggles alike!

What to expect: This is not a traditional letterboxing event as you can see. Imagine a cross between an art show opening and a trunk show. I will have on display for examination and purchase many of the stamps I carve as part of my cottage business, "Jackbear Stamps". There will be craft beer, a raffle for a wonderful prize basket, snacky food, and of course, BEER!

I was selected to be the guest artist of the month by the fine women who own Crocus Clayworks. They make amazing pottery, and that will also be available to view or purchase. This is part of a city wide art movement called First Fridays, which has art galleries and studios open late on the first Friday of each month. There will be many other openings and open houses of artisans in the Hungerford building which is an old warehouse that is now chuck full of great craftsmen and women.

THERE WILL BE AN EVENT STAMP! I will also have my personal travelers with me that include the "Cabinet of Curiosities" and the traveling event box "BYOB Beer Sampler", as well as opportunities to exchange.
