Description
For the most up-to-date information, checkout the event webpage at http://www.mainesnauticalpast.comLook at that... Team MudCup's next event is now listed. Plenty of time to pull together things we didn't have time to do before! Stay tuned!
Ahoy Maties! As of August 2009, this event is already gaining steam for next year. This will hopefully turn into a grand wild adventure for all those attending. The planning committee have LOTS of energy and ideas to help you celebrate a summer camping weekend in Maine! Look for exciting information to be added as these ideas are finalized! Tell your friends and invite them to come and join us for the fun!
August 22, 2009 Update: If you are joining us to camp - make sure you sign up for the pregather which will be held Friday Night at Thomas Point Beach - so no extra traveling required!
The committee is working very hard to plan what will happen - but there will be LOTS of boxing! At Thomas Point Beach and beyond! Of course - there will be food. Saturday breakfast for sure - maybe even an early bird breakfast for those wanting to get a head start. We will also be planning a Sea Captain's Dinner with entertainment provided by local talent and just plain locals... if you have the urge to sing a sea chanty - drop me a note to include you in the line up! Comedians also welcome! Night boxing - of course! And so much more. Event boxes will be limited and only available at pre-arranged times to encourage boxing. We are also looking at t-shirts, patches and logbooks exclusive for this event. Tune in soon to see what we have up our sleeves ; ) But we'll never tell you everything. A little mystery is good for the boxing soul!
Jan 2010: The weather outside might be frightful, but summer plans are whirling around at a mad speed here in the wintery north. We have so many things up our sleeves, that everyone will find something to keep themselves busy with. Remember, this event has been extended to the week previous for those adventerous souls who'd like to come and play on Mid-Coast Maine a bit longer. We'll have plenty of things to keep you busy - and have things for those NBers in your party as well!
Sign up if you are arriving early at: http://www.atlasquest.com/showinfo.html?gEventId=1495
Sign up for the 'pre-gather' Friday night at: http://www.atlasquest.com/showinfo.html?gEventId=1395
Sign up for the Bowling event (the alley is less than a mile from the campground) Friday afternoon at: http://www.atlasquest.com/showinfo.html?gEventId=1564
Make sure you are checking the website often - updates will get posted there first and there surely will be things hidden around the site for you to find : ) Its also full of information about alternate lodging accomodations if you are not into the camping spirit.
If you can donate something for the raffles - give angel treads a shout. She'll be collecting items. And even small donations with others can turn into great raffles!
Do you have someone in your party that loves to sing? Dance? Thinks they are a total comedic cut-up? Contact Jiffy to be part of the "Shipwreck Showcase."
Want to donate a Maine/nautical stamp - contact Teacup.
Want to bring along an event stamp - contact Jiffy.
Questions about t-shirts and accomodation information in the area - contact Robin's Nest
Mar 21, 2010: Entertainers
Still lokking for some adventursome souls that would like to entertain the rest of us at the Sea Captains Dinner event... want to sing Row, Row, Your Boat... Do a jig... stack lock n locks on the top of your head. If you have an unusual talent or are just a plain hambone - contact Jiffy to get into the line-up.

Mar 27, 2010: Maine's Nautical Past
Teacup and I do some things that we like - one of them is gifts upon arrival. But we've had extras in the past and really don't like that.
So we need a little help - so our budgets aren't blown out of the water.
1. If you have children coming with you that are 12 and under - please shoot me their names so we can plan accordingly.
2. We will be giving out 1 gift per sign-up. So if you signed up as a group - but have multiple trailnames (this also helps with exchanges and PTs) please relist yourself accordingly. We do not want to make too many - but we also want to make enough. And I know that there are families out there that have listed everyone under themselves (but if you have someone over 12 with a trailname, they are gonna want their own goodie bag, right?) so please delete the number and let them add themselves.
Also - an event box has returned from an extended voyage. And I will be using it again for the pre-gather. It helps folks get to meet each other. I used it at my event two years ago - and it was very successful - so if you will be attending the pre-gather - please shoot me your zodiac sign (only those 13 and over, please.)
If you need ANY information - please ask. Our clue packets will REFERENCE boxes that are planted locally and along your trail to new boxes. So please, make sure you are printing clues prior to arrival for those you need to seek. Teacup and I are actively checking on all boxes in the area: Brunswick, Bath, Freeport, Topsham, Harpswell - so that when you arrive, you should not be seeking out boxes that have gone missing. That would just be a waste of time, and can be very frustrating.
Thanks and have a great day!
Kathleen and Amber

Jun 12, 2010: Mealtime plans...

Jun 25, 2010: Maine's Nautical Past
So my counter tells me we are 44 days away from this event. I'm hoping everyone is getting excited for a fun filled boxing weekend with us here in Brunswick.
To make your boxing excursion the best it possibly can be - I HIGHLY encourage you to start printing clue sheets in the area. We will only be providing written clues to the newest planted boxes in the greater Brunswick area, anything that has been planted for a while - we will guide you closer, but not provide you with the written clues. If you've been here before - you'll know we try to make your driving the most direct for your boxing impact. And if you have any questions on if you should print it - ask Teacup or myself.
We are trying very hard to make sure boxes have been found recently or are checking on them ourselves. If we cannot find a box - they will not be referenced on our clue sheets. Who wants to chase after something that isn't there?
So start printing - because when I did a general search not using my name - I came up with over 150 to work thru : ) And many are series!
Happy Friday!

Jul 1, 2010: Maine's Nautical Past
With a little more than a month until this event, we are into the final push for this event. Things you need to do ASAP:
Sat Breakfast/Dinner plans. Need to know if you'll be joining us and the money in hand so we have enough to feed everyone. Even if you are NOT staying at the campground - you can join us for both meals...
Donations for the raffle - we have a great mix to date but if you'd like to add to it and might be bringing it with you - please contact angel treads ASAP.
T-Shirts - these need to be ordered very soon. Right now we only have orders for 20 or so - but Robin's Nest needs to collect money to order them. Please contact her for the details and the final deadline. There is a minimum in order to order the t-shirts, and if we do not meet that minimum - we won't be ordering the shirts.
Event logbooks - Gargoyle Girl has the exclusive event books. She will only be making them for preorders. So if you want one to stamp up all your stamps for this event - contact her ASAP.
Talent - the show will go on - but we are looking for a couple more to join in the folly. Singing, dancing, juggling or just telling bad jokes - contact Jiffy to be added to the line-up. The show will be our bridge between dinner and NIGHT BOXING!
And we will be hosting the stamina challenging nightboxing event. 22 guest carved pirates have flown in to tangle with 24 pirates littlmoon has donated. Yup - you read that right - 46 night boxes. Grab those black ink pads and flashlights - you'll be off in search of pirates that will be looting and pillaging the campground.
As always - if you need anything - feel free to contact me. Print those clue sheets for the following areas...(Freeport, Brunswick, Topsham, Bath, Harpswell, Boothbay.) We will elude to close boxes, but only provide clues for the newest plants.
Jul 13, 2010: This just in... T-Shirt info update
Robin's Nest just contacted me with the following info:
The shirts are at the printers now and I need payment by July 31st. The color will be dark blue designs on light blue tees. There will be designs on both the front and back of the shirts with a clue also on the back. The brand is Glidden which is all cotton and preshrunk. Price is $12.00 per shirt whether childs or adults. $13.00 for sizes XXL and larger. If we get additional orders, the price MIGHT drop. If so, I will offer price adjustments at the event. Those wishing to order a shirt should AQMail me and I will give them my mailing address and PAYPAL information.
So act now - because if you do not order your t-shirt before the event - you will not be able to get one at the event.
24 days and counting!

Jul 20, 2010: Maine's Nautical Past - PTs
Someone asked of we were doing a themed PT to share for this event. Not officially - but if you want to carve something in tune with the overall theme to share - that would be great! nautical/pirates always welcome : )
Just remember to list it in time for folks to print it off. Otherwise we'll have cards for PTs/WOM boxes and a board to pin them to at the event.
Jul 24, 2010: Beach Collecting
So - if you are not interested in carving a PT for the event - maybe you'd like to carve something you'd find while at the beach. Collecting shells, driftwood or seaglass. Anything you'd like to carve and donate to my Beach Collecting event box would be welcome. When you sign into the event - you can drop your addition in the container. Please make sure you label it with the stamps name and your trail name so proper credit can be given when I list the box after the event.
Realy and silly images accepted - and kids art especially welcome!

We have afamily of 3 that would like to share a tent site Saturday. If anyone has room, please contact Mud and let her know since I will unavailable for a couple days.
Aug 1, 2010: Those of you camping
Pack something warm for nights. Its been getting down in the 50's at night here in Maine. And this campground is along the water - so it could feel a bit cooler that than if there's an onshore breeze!
