What are the differences between Public, Personal and System photo albums?
Public albums anyone can add a photo to. Personal albums only you can add a photo to. (However, everybody can still see them.) System albums are created by Atlas Quest for things like events albums. You don't create those types of albums directly, and the specific rules about how or who can put photos into it varies depending on why AQ created it.
There are also "hidden" albums, which are like system albums that you can't see. =) (That's where solutions for virtuals go, for instance.)

How do you add a photo as a clue?
While adding or editing a letterbox, on the clue page, use the option to have an Atlas Quest hosted clue. Near the bottom of the page are options to upload a photo and mark it as a clue. If the photo is an actual clue and not simply decorative, but sure to mark the box that the photo is an actual clue. This is important to insure that a high-resolution version of the photo is preserved and so the photo will be displayed in cached versions of the clue. The photo must be in a GIF or JPG, and under 4 megabytes in size. If not, you'll need to use the photo-editing software on your computer to change the format or shrink the photo. If you are uploading a large image over a dial-up connection, the upload process could take several minutes, so be patient. (Shrinking the size of the file to be uploading also helps in this case.)
Do not add photo clues directly to the photo gallery since high-resolution versions of the photos will NOT be saved. AQ will resize any imagine that's larger than 1000 pixels on a side.

How do I delete an album?
Open the album to be deleted. Then, in the upper-right corner of the page, there will be a small link labeled Delete Album. Use that to delete a photo album.
Keep in mind, you can only delete an album if you are the owner of it. Public albums that are created by other people will not have this option available.

How do I upload photos?
Uploading photos may require a few steps:
Uploaded photos must be less than 3 megabytes in size, so you may need to shrink the photo in your photo-editing software. They must also be either in a JPG or GIF format. PNG might work. All image types are converted to JPG for storage on AQ.
AQ will resize any imagine that's larger than 1000 pixels to a side. AQ will not store any image larger than 300 pixels on a side for more than a month, it will be resized down to less than 300 pixels on a side.
- Go the Photo Gallery. (The link can be found under the Toolbox menubar option.)
- If you do not yet have an album, create one with the Create Album option. If you already have an album created, open it.
- Once you have an album and it is opened, use the Upload Photos button to upload your photos.
- After your album has at least one photo, you can select a "cover photo" for your album. This is the photo that will represent the entire album.

My photo looks fine to me but when I upload it to AQ, I see it sideways. How do I correct this?
Photos actually have an "up" side. In the age of smartphones that can orient themselves in all sorts of directions, actually being able to see which way is up on a photo becomes more problematic. By default, photos are usually created with the long side horizontal. If you take a vertically-aligned photo, you'll need to download it to your own computer first and rotate it 90 degrees to the right or left as needed.
With Windows Explorer, you can right-click a photo and you'll find an option to rotate clockwise or counter-clockwise and make the change right from there.
I'm not sure how to rotate an image with a Mac, but even the most primitive photo-editing software should have a rotate option available.
Once it's been rotated so the correct end is up, you can upload the image to Atlas Quest. The other solution is just to only use photos that are angled horizontally and that shouldn't be a problem in the first place.
