As many of you quickly guessed, this was the 2025 April Fool’s Day joke, spoofing on some of the political news of the day. Atlas Quest is not being renamed AmeriQuest, as cool as the name sounds, and Marjorie is our adorable little chicken mascot and will never become our big, mean eagle mascot.
Make Letterboxing Great Again!
I don’t mention this much, but a significant chunk of the revenues for the website previously known as Atlas Quest comes in the form of federal grants. With all the uncertainties surrounding those, however, I thought it prudent to take a more America-first approach to the website, and thus have renamed the website AmeriQuest.
In addition, you’ll start to see additional changes being rolled out over the next several months. For instance, Marjorie will be replaced by the American eagle—a clear reference to the strength and overwhelming power of our United States of America. Not only that, but she was born an eagle and therefore must continue to use eagle pronouns.
We may have trouble acquiring grants if we display too many DEI initiatives, so some types of trailnames will no longer be permitted. If an account already uses a banned word in their trailname, you’ll have one week to move your trailname into compliance before we will change it automatically for you including:

Department of Possible Efficiencies (DOPE)
Since it is critical that everything run as smoothly and efficiently as possible, all non-critical jobs will be cut. Green Tortuga has been on probation for over 20 years now, and he is now an unnecessary expense so his contract is null and void. We can no longer afford any volunteers so all moderator and admin positions will also be eliminated. Our goal is to slash expenditures in half, and half of nothing is nothing! Additionally, half of our sever capacity will be removed. We may have to remove some box listings and accounts to save space, but we will start with any that use the word “Mexico” in their name and any boxes not located within this great country of America.

Moving forward, we believe that we can offset some of these lost capabilities with the purchase of a Tesla and StarLink technology, and plan to add Tesla charging stations next to every drive-by letterbox.
