Last Christmas I hosted a Christmas postcard swap. I kinda got a little obsessed and ended up making over 40 to send to letterboxing friends. Here is the post for 2017. If you don't get on this one, I'll post a second. Or....if EVERYONE in the ring is wiling, I will increase the size of the ring.
I am asking that you create a larger size LTC (4 1/4 x 5 1/2) and carve at least one Christmas themed stamp to stamp on it (more is encouraged, but not required). Please include the AQ # somewhere on the card. The "picture" side should be a carve, not a pre-printed image. One piece of cardstock will make 4 cards. Hence the above size.
Many participants used more than one stamp last year, but it's not required. They had their "main" stamp(s) on the picture side and other stamps plus their sig stamp on the address side. Please get your signature stamp (normal or mini) somewhere on the card. Reusing old stamps in a new design is definitely OK.
I have had so much fun hosting a Valentine Postcard exchange. I have a May Day and Halloween Postcard exchange coming up. It is SO much fun to open my mailbox and have mail other than junk and bills. Postcards require only $0.35 to mail. So here is how the mailing will work.
I am asking that you mail them to each participant between December 1 and December 20, 2017, so that you can enjoy and display them with the other holiday cards you receive. The goal is for everyone to receive a card by Christmas. This may or may not happen depending on the reliability of the mail delivery. Christmas is on a Monday this year so be patient if you don't get a card by the 23rd. You will NOT mail all the cards to me with me distributing.
Mail each card individually to all on the list. You don’t have to wait until the start date, you can mail as soon as you have the addresses. As stated above, anytime around Dec 1 till the start date. But, please do mail your cards by the start date.
Register each card when you receive it. Don't forget to add it to the tracker.
This means that you’ll have to send me your mailing information asap. If you've done a ring with me, I have it one file. If you haven't or your information has changed, be sure I get that mailing information. I’ll send the list to all participants in mid November.
Hopefully I haven't missed anything. Care to join me?
