Transferring an Image to a Carving Block
Picking an image to carve, in some respects, is the hardest part in carving a stamp—and you've done that! But there's still work to do... an image can't be carved until it's on your carving block. You'll find a bewildering number of techniques to get an image onto your carving blocks, but we'll cover some of the easiest and most popular methods here. Don't worry, this is the easy part!
- The trusty old No. 2 pencil comes to the rescue again! It's not very sophisticated, but that's one of the reasons that makes this method so popular.
- This more advanced transfer technique requires nothing more complicated than parchment paper and a printer, but you'll be able to transfer incredibly detailed images quickly and easily!
- This is another advanced technique that works very well to transfer images from newspapers and laser printers to a carving block.
